Novi Sad is preparing to host one of the key events of European SAMBO — the European Youth Championship among boys, girls, junior boys and junior girls. The tournament will bring together the strongest young athletes of the continent.
The competition program covers three intense competition days and includes a wide range of weight categories.
On April 21, the boys will take to the carpet (53, 58, 64, 71, 79, 88, 98, +98 kg) and girls (47, 50, 54, 59, 65, 72, 80, +80 kg), opening the tournament with a series of intense and dynamic duels.
On April 22, junior girls (50, 59, 72, +80 kg) and junior boys (58, 71, 88, +98 kg) will continue to compete. On the same day, the junior combat sambo competitions (64, 79, 98 kg) will start, where each bout gets a special price.
On April 23, the winners among girls’ juniors (54, 65, 80 kg), boys’ juniors (64, 79, 98 kg) and juniors in combat sambo (58, 71, 88, +98 kg) will be determined.
The main intrigue of the tournament will be a historic innovation: for the first time in the framework of the European Youth Championship, medals in the discipline of combat sambo among juniors will be awarded. This decision reflects the growing interest in the discipline and enhances the competitive component of the tournament.
The European Championship in Novi Sad is not only a competition for medals, but also an opportunity to see a new generation of athletes who will determine the level of European and world SAMBO in the coming years.
