AMYNTEO, Greece — On March 8, an international holiday, the city of Amyndeo welcomed young sambists. The city hosted the International Tournament for Youth and Juniors (Youth and Junior categories), which served as a preparatory stage for upcoming major competitions.
The main goal of the competition was to test the athletes’ technical and tactical readiness before the season’s signature event — the European Championship, which will be held in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The tournament was attended by 97 athletes representing three Balkan countries: Greece, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria.
The organizers expressed their deep gratitude to all delegations for their participation and noted the high level of discipline and athletic skill of the young sambo wrestlers.

“This tournament in Amyndeo became an important foundation for future victories.” “We thank the sambists from North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Greece for their fair competition. We wish all participants to approach the tournament in Serbia in peak form and represent their countries with dignity on the European stage!” the organizing committee emphasized.
The successful holding of the competition in Amynteo once again confirmed the importance of regional cooperation for the development of sambo and the advancement of young generations of sambists.
