Representatives of the Republic of Armenia will participate in the 2025 World Games, which will be held in Chengdu, China.
Armenian national team athletes: Arman Avanesyan (98 kg), Mais Nersesyan (64 kg), Sarkis Vardanyan (79 kg), Arpine Mnatsakanyan (54 kg), and Srbui Ovakimyan (59 kg) have passed the qualifying stages and earned their tickets to one of the most important events of 2025. To prepare for the important sporting event of the year, improve their athletic form, and achieve the highest results, the athletes of the Armenian national team conduct daily individual and joint training sessions and actively participate in international competitions.
The president of the Armenian Sambo Federation, Mikael Ayrapetyan, personally supervised the athletes’ training. He pays special attention to the work process in order to achieve the highest goals set. In his speech, Mikael Ayrapetyan noted: “The Armenian Sambo Federation must present its sambo athletes at the World Games in the best form. The World Games are an excellent opportunity to strengthen the athletes’ ranking results.”
According to the team’s head coach, Vovik Khodzhyan, joint training sessions with athletes and coaches are conducted based on the goals and objectives set for the World Championships. It is necessary to pay attention not only to physical training, but also to the psychological and emotional state of the athletes. There are also plans to hold a seminar aimed at training and improving skills, developing functional capabilities, with an emphasis on the technical and tactical training of participants in the complex.
