World Championship to be held in Kyrgyzstan

On October 6-8, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, will host the main international start of 2023 for youth national teams.

The World Championship will be held in the arena of the Gazprom to Children Sports and Recreation Complex. Last year the World Sambo Championship was held in this very hall. In 2022 Kyrgyzstan hosted the world’s largest competition for the first time in its history.

This year, athletes of two age categories will compete for medals: boys and girls (16-18 years old), juniors, juniors and juniors combat sambo (18-20 years old). There will be 37 sets of medals.

Representatives of 28 countries will bring their sambists to Bishkek: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Colombia, Egypt, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Israel, Jordan, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Athletes from Russia, Belarus and France take part in a neutral status (FIAS-1, FIAS-2, FIAS-3 respectively).
