The Open European Cup starts tomorrow, on the eve of the competition there was a press conference:
— Kobrusev Alexander Arkadievich — President of Belorussian Sambo Federation
— Dmitry Valeryevich Maksimov — member of FIAS technical committee
— Dmitry Troshkin — head coach of Russian national sambo team.
Participants of the conference mentioned that 150 sambo wrestlers from 11 countries will take part in the competition: Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
The event is held in the status of the European Open Cup for the first time. Previously, the competition was called “Open Championship for the prizes of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the International Tournament of Category “A”.
In 2022 the competition will be held for the 26th time. Open European Cup is included in the list of rating tournaments FIAS.
