The Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan discussed an issue of creating organizational commissions for holding the World Sambo Championship in Ashgabat in 2020, the meeting was held by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in Ashgabat via video link.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Purli Agamyradov, the relevant agreement between the International Sambo Federation and the National Martial Arts Federation of Turkmenistan was previously concluded. It is t note that the establishment of the Organizing Committee of the upcoming large-scale competition will give the preparatory work a systematic and complex approach and will coordinate the relevant organisations for effective use of the valuable experience accumulated in our country in conducting large-scale sporting events.
After hearing the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the upcoming prestigious international competition will enhance Turkmenistan’s prestige on the world stage. “An event of such level as the World Cup will certainly contribute to the development of top-level sports in the country, but the most important that it will give a big impetus to the mass physical culture movement, which is one of the priorities of state policy to protect public health”, said the leader of the nation.
