International Tournament Sambo President’s Cup will be held 25-27 September 2015 in the English city of Manchester, — told reporters the president of the International Sambo Federation Vasily Shestakov.
“President’s Cup, held in London last year, had a great response, it is a great pleasure that it is becoming a tradition now, — said Vasily Shestakov. — I distinguish this tournament among other FIAS activities, because the tournament was bright and has attracted much attention of policy makers, sports managers, public and press attention. I am confident that this year’s tournament in Manchester, which is famous for its football tradition, will help us to raise awareness and attractiveness of sambo in the world. ”
“It is interesting that the tournament became a kind of support for the initiatives organized by the Association of the British Commonwealth Sambo Federation and the UK”, — said the head of the International Federation of Sambo.
The first tournament was held at the President’s Cup in London in September 2014. The contest was attended by eight teams, and in the final Russian team defeated the team of Great Britain with a score of 7-2.
