University of Internal Affairs in Odessa, Ukraine, will open a combat sambo club

University of Internal Affairs in Odessa, Ukraine, is planning on opening a combat sambo class with the goal of preparing future specialists of the Ukrainian National police.

It was discussed during a meeting between University’s rector Viacheslav Abroskin and combat sambo world champion, professional athlete and university’s lecturer on special operations, firearms and physical education, police Major Anatoliy Voloshinov, as reported on the official website.

It is noted that students will be under the care of two athletes — two-time European Champion and 2018 World Champion, Ukrainian sambo multiple champion Anatoliy Voloshinov and assistant lecturer on special operations, firearms and physical education, honored coach of Ukraine in unifight, karate master of sport of Ukraine, candidate of law Vladimir Domnitsak.

“Sambo is a major sports discipline for future police officers. This martial art tempers, disciplines and stability and endurance among cadets” — University’s Rector added.

Mr. Voloshinov promised to raise future world champions.
