Novi Sad is going to be a host of the Sambo European Championship

Novi Sad (Serbia) is going to be a host of the Sambo European Championship for youth and juniors from 16th to 20th of April 2015. It is expected about 400 competitors from 35 countries. For this occasion, the constitutive meeting of the Organizing Committee was held, at which Miloš Vučević, the Mayor of Novi Sad was elected for president. Sports legends Slavko Obadov and Vladimir Batez were elected the first, along with Mrs. Marinika Tepić, Provincial Secretary for Sports and Youth and Mr. Predrag Svilar, city council member in charge of sport.

Furthermore, a complete governing body of the championship was formed which includes renowned professors and famous sports people as: professor Zoran Milosevic, PhD; Jovan Pejčić, PhD; professor Dejan Madić, PhD; Tatjana Trivić; Dragan Atanasov; professor Alexander Milovančev, PhD; Snežana Mihailović ...

“The European Sambo Federation along with the Serbian Government awarded us with this European Championship organization. The city of Novi Sad declared this championship as an event of significance for city and sport promotion. With no doubt in my mind, our city will be a good organizer, with a positive goal and desire to popularize sambo sport in Serbia. The technical organization has been entrusted to SC ‘Sportikus’. Technical organization has a full support of the Novi Sad City Administration for Sport and Youth, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia, Provincial Secretariat for Sport and Youth as well as the European Sambo Federation”: announced the Chairman of the Executive Board and Director of the Championship Professor Patrik Drid, PhD.
